Safari holidays are a fab way to explore the wildlife and habitat or a different country. Often safaris can be suitable for people of a wide range of ages and interests but have you ever heard of an elephant safari?
With many South African elephants being hand reared it is now seen as a very safe way to travel around on safari and can just add to the whole experience. Not only do you get to see some magnificent animals and take the breathtaking views, but do it all on the back of one of the world’s largest mammals.
You may think that it sounds expensive, but many safari resorts are offering rides from as little as £35 per person, which is often as much as you may pay on a return taxi journey on a night out in the UK.
Elephant riding isn’t for everyone and it is not recommended for children under the age of 12 for safety reasons, but if you do fancy trying something new that you cannot do easily at home then why not give it a go?
