Egypt is a place of wonders and is steeped in history. It is hard to meet a person who has been to Egypt and not got a book worth of memories to share.
Situated in Luxor in Egypt, the Valley of the Kings is a valley where, for a period of nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, rock-cut tombs were excavated for the Pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom.
Some of the most famous Pharaohs of all time were buried there and many of their tombs are now open to the public to go and view. One of the most famous tombs is that of Tutankhamun, which was unearthed by Howard cater in 1922. It was full of treasures like never seen before and has given us a wider knowledge of the Egyptians and how they lived.
Taking a holiday to the Valley of the Kings in Egypt may not be as relaxing as a holiday by a pool or sunning yourself on the beach but can offer you an experience like no other and can be one of the if not the, most interesting holidays you will ever go on. There are often direct flights from the UK to Egypt which takes approximately five hours.
